Dear Abby,

I got the unwink instructions but last time i did this i was using another set of instructions as well, i can no longer find that link and im just wondering if anyone has them as a PDF or link or something.

im getting 0x00000000 from my jtag and forget how i modded a 420RE and 430RGA a while ago. does my IRD have to be plugged into power to read my flash, or is that just for jtags that need a power source soldered onto them. mine uses an external 9V battery as its source and is buffered.

also, i used to have a modded playstation joystick on my LPT1 but even after i uninstalled its driver i still got 0x00000000. in XP my LPT1 doesn't use an IRQ, could this be a problem.

Your's truly,

It will work with the P4 card when the hack become available....and the mod does not affect the normal operation or the receiver, it still works with subbed p4 cards.......and what if the stream doesn't go down shortly?? Not everyone enjoys searching or paying for valid bins.
If the Hu stream does go down, then everybody will be in a bind, not just the modded IRD's, until the P4 hack is available.....

Mili has a set of instructions. Go to www.dssmili.com and at the left under DTV How-To are the instructions.

nice... thx 001438, those are the instructions i was looking for. i used those along w/ unwink's last time i modded a 420 and 430RGA. i was even searching through mili's site but couldn't find em this time around.

is there a way i can check my TAP points on the IRD w/ my multimeter?

here's what it looks like, i dunno what to set the dial to and which holes to plug in the red and black wands to. i also don't know what im supposed to touch on the taps and what my readings should be... there's not a lot i DO know, but appreciate any help. thanks.

some of the traces from the jtag port go to places you can test, some go straight to the processor chip and its a little more difficult.
your leads go into the COM and V(ohm) mA, ports on the meter, the dial gets set to 200 in the (ohm) range to check for continuity.

I am not assuming, flashf, I am seriously hoping, that's all that can be done at this point, I have heard from some well connected folks that there will be good news when that news is needed, we'll just have to wait and see....
