I was doing a 420 no zkt mod and did everything properly but when I plugged in the IRD the picture was blurry/fuzzy/very distorted.

I then realized that I did not cut the track when I did the mod and flash.
basically:

5v to FP
no track cut
flash with no zkt

By not cutting the track did I corrupt the flash written to the IRD.
I reflashed the original and it is the same(no track cut still).

My problem is also that I did not test this unit before I started other than plug in and reset which was Ok. i did not hook up to the tv to test (a good lesson).

Comments on this possible corruption due to the track not being cut before flashing.

not likely, but not a good practice....

unit was probably bad before you started, but we don't know that......

FYI

Problem solved.

the e-prom was corrupt. I reflashed the e-prom with a 420 E-prom file I had and all is OK now.

It was either corrupt originally or got corrupted when I flashed the IRD with the no zkt file.

Luckily I had one on file (Iusually do not save them before I flash - another good lesson).

Bye for now
