would anyone happen to know the readings i should be getting when the buffered jtag has a 9V power source... basically the pins on the parallel plug + headers on PCB. i checked the continuity from the jtag cable to the ST processor and it looked pretty good.

this is a DRD420RE btw. also does my IRD have to be plugged into power in order for jkeys to recognize my chipset?
This is my JTAG btw... (http://home.cogeco.ca/~transmat/JTAG_LAYOUTS.pdf)

i got it running from CONNECTOR 2 straight down the six points on the IRD, from GND, down to TRST. i also remember using a strange (unpopular) older version of jkeys when i modded a DRD420RE and DRD430RGA a while ago.

also, i have a DRD420RE (the one i modded a long time ago) that was struck by lightning... any way i could revive that one by using parts from this functional but unmoddable DRD420RE?

as much as i would like to sit down and explain about a buffered jtag, by the time you finish troubleshooting it you can build a simple one and it will work just fine.

you can always swap parts out as long as they are still working. if u can't ring your jtag out then i don't think you will understand the parts in the IRD. i could be wrong
