View Full Version : Remembering Old Stuff sometimes is a good thing

I remember when Battery Cards were the thing, then came Rom2 mix with AVR, then the rom3 mixed with old P2 cards then the Hbootstrap then the AVR had multiple releases up to a self programmable interface version of the AVR near the same time P3 stuff was available. Then the Atmega128 Shortly after Rom10/11 rose from the shadows as to emulation on all 3 networks DTV/Dish/Bell, then the ROM102 and any Surface Mount chip as well. Now IKS mirrored emulation

I know I'm missing some interfaces that were available, but they never made a good run apart from the FTA units.

Many of us opened assembly and worked on testing stuff with hits and misses which developed into the next era of ideas.

I have been around a long time and I have seen it all. I dissembled, assembled, had headaches just writing stuff. The only ever public project I worked on was Autoroll emulation and something I can't mention as it will reveal who I am and I just don't want the attention from users as I ran away... (while everything else was behind sealed doors).

When it came right down to it, I don't think I ever really watched television. I was mostly interested in the actual hobby of assembly itself. I was starring at actual control messages vs. pixel related imagery haha... (joke)

How many of you are girls? When I say this, that actually got into ASM right into the heart of the project/programming? The only other girl I ever met was a programmer for the Fedora project (Linux).

Is this a rant down memory lane,

...... or are you just trying to see how many guys send you a pm asking you if you can disassemble their complex code in order to extract a logical algorithm that will not be deprecated by it's inverse function, rendering itself bootstrapped to your internal hard drive's map address due to an invalid interrupt request?

Obviously I'm not a coder but that sounds sexy!! :D

Who cares, IKS or DTV is all there is now. Everything else is subbed.
Try CC if you want to speak geek with other coders.

Im not trying to speak geek, I just wanna see if there's other girls who have made routines part of their daily routines :P

And yes I am a girl, and no you can't pm me.

Why is her question more valid somewhere else and not here?

Perhaps if Mili doesn't like the question or comments he can moderate her. I for one, am interested in ALL comments and will not ridicule someone for posting here.

Yea.. um anyways I dislike nearly half the people at CC thus why most coders left...

Every time you would do something someone would butt in and try to steal the work *cough*.... I am not pointing fingers but it's the reality.

I rather stay on Mili's side in the forums as nothing ever kind really went bad here.

Your chances of having a good conversation regarding your post would probably be better served there. There aren't too many coder's here. And yes CC is a little snotty.

Hey I was just having some fun with this topic ... *fart*
It really doesn't matter to me what anyone does.

This site has been turned over 2-fold, and Mili is barely around.
He stated that he has had no response from DSSDooda regarding Slinger's progress, but Slinger's website has his new DTV ads?
What does that tell you guys? He's obviously been in communication with them.
Everyone cut and run, and no one cares.

I am around but have limited access to the Internet. No Slinger news sorry.

It's kind of funny when a user post a comment to bash, then another user bashes on them or multiple... Xer.. my post is just meant to find out who is still around. Where did most people shift too.

Mili, I feel for you bro. It can't be easy having to deal with some of these folks.
At least some are dumb enough to believe anything. That has to help a little.
Bet these are the same morons that bug you guys for pron, porn, PORN!! lmfao

Let us know what is up w/slinger.

@Sarah > Where everyone went? We moved on to Private IKS with our dish equipment.
A simple pre-provider programed premium card (flush ... lotta p) called a glokenspiel with an adapter and a GOOD working software. It's pricey, but it works and is way cheaper than DTV. No freezes, no headaches, BUT, no certainty as to how long it will stay up. This app is not based on NK or RQ share. Works flawless on ViP dual tuner HD ird. Board's been around for 5 years+. No db crashes. :)

In all my years in the field, started in the 60s when it was an art, I met very few females who were into anything more than programming but tere were a few. One who I would choose over anyone else.

Thank you for your interesting posts.

Sorry to interrupt, but,
how many channels are currently possible to watch
on a Sonicview HD with i-Hub? Just 213 and 196?

Thanks.
Eef.
