Phone number for Directv

plugplay, i have heard of people who live close to the american border who will get one of those pay as you go type cellphones from south of the border and call DTV to get a subcription up and running with their american address. i don't know if it works, maybe someone else has heard it and tried and succeded? or just go to your relatives place set up the dish and reciever, activate it with DTV, pack it up and then go home?

remember it has to be and american based celluar company for it to work i think (best guess), plus the calling card must be american also, because they will ask you for a phone number, an american phone number, they will bitch about the cell phone number just say that you don't have a land line any more, it was either keep the land line or get directv and you think that they would be happy that you chose them.

First of all, the website is www.directv.com. Secondly, they only have the toll-free number on the site.
Double Ought was pointing to the fact that you can subscribe online if you already have the equipment....

dtv will no longer program used ird's. when you get your other issues figured out tell them you bought your ird at kmart store just before they closed it.

I think dapple is correct and they will probably send you a shiny new P5 card which will be usles to you ... So there is no sense even signing up , it is not like you can get the bin off it either ...
Now if you want it simply to watch what you are paying for that might work ..

You coukd use one of the netphone company's they will give you a number in most any large US City, Just dial up it will show up on their CID as origin of US.

I've known some Canadians to cross the border and get PO Boxes.... They'll accept that as a billing address....
