I work in the electronics business and have had a few dealings with directv. In the process I have befriended the DTV rep. On one occassion I asked him what the deal was with the total choice price and the total choice PLUS price being $1 more. With the difference is only a few channels, that are nothing special. Why not just have em in the same package. After hearing what he said to me made me get into this hobby.
I was told "the reason for the plus package was to simply generate 11 million extra dollars a month. 11 million subscribers, 1 dollar that is nothing to the single subscriber = 11 million dolars of free money for DTV"
Its funny how DTV cries all this revenue loss from pirates who probably wouldn't subscribe anyway and the whole time they are ripping their own subcribers off and getting that extra$$$. Corporate greed at its worst
