Error 020

Hi Guys.
I have a problem with my receiver 301,its a subbed receiver.A friend gave it to me,because he have 2 of them.He is still paying for it,but I did not use this receiver for atleast 8 months. Yesterday I hooked it up switch check & all sat feed is good,no problem.When I turn it on I am seeing the ERROR 020- THE SMART CARD CURRENTLY INSERTED IS NOT VALID FOR THIS RECEIVER.This is the original card & belong to this receiver,if I pull the card out only that way I can see the MENU & the Guide all those channels which are subscribed in GRAY.As soon as I insert the card ERROR 020 appears.Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Either the card is not the correct one that was married to the IRD, or the card was programmed with incorrect IRD info.

Thanks for ur answer. I am sure everything is right card belong to this very reciver.It happened 3 months ago when I have another receiver,which was just sitting for like a year.When I hooked it up it was giving me the same ERROR message until I called dish network to activate it.
But this paticular receiver was working about 8 months ago.Now when I hooked it up its giving me the ERROR 20 message.Still waiting for advise,
which I will appreciate it.

kida punjabi, Has your friend discontinued service for that IRD. Do you just plug it in once in awhile.

IF the IRD is legit just give dish a call, Have your friend give them a call.
