Nah, it's not the end.

If they left out the part about the music channels ending, maybe I would have believed 'em.

The music channels can still be picked up with the old F series cards/emulator.

...and your source is? (no need to divulge) I only ask because I don't think there is any hope of trading out all remaining HU's in two weeks. There is a rediculous amount of speculation and predatory advertizing attempting to sell P4 and associated products. These vendors are making up all kinds of reasons you need to buy their product IMMEDIATELY!...or suffer the consequences. To be honest, it's getting really old. To shut down the HU, all Dave has to do is just stop sending the VAP's for the HU. One change and the HU is done forever except the music channels. Why would he mess around with all that scheduling as outlined in your 'memo'? All rhetorical questions. Only time will tell.

In August of 2002 there was a scheduled shut down of he H card VAPs so a scheduled list of shutdowns is not suspicious (aside from the music channels I mentioned in an earlier post). What people have to keep in mind is that the P4 card is going on two years (April 2002). There can't be too many HU subs left.

When the H was finally shut off some subscribers were left with blank screens so DTV has proven that they can and will shut down VAPs when they feel it necessary, regardless of whether there are still subscribers to a card type.

The ride has got to be coming to an end soon...it has been a fantastic one. Now would be a good time to either brush up on DN or look at DVB cards so that when the trigger is finally pulled you're not SOL.

Darnat - Your thoughts on the rumored P4 hack? Is it worth waiting for, or is it time to switch to DN?
