That's probably it. Follow the trace from the center conductor of the SAT IN connector to the first orange w/black stripe glass tube.

Hi all. My 420 is also searching on some channels. I tried another ird and it works properly. My question is can the zenor diode cause this?

tons of posts about this. the zener can do it, the tip42 transistor can do it or both. my advice, replace both. i pull the zener on one of mine and it came in but you can still tell that the problem is there. mrwhitesjtag has the repair parts for them on his site.

I found the zenor diode on the board, could someone tell me the location of the tip42 transiostor? Thanks

they can be replaced with 1n4148 diodes
