The damn thing will not acclerate at all. I have cheched fuel pump TPS, vacum lines, The only obvious thing is EGR is stuck which is also the codes I get with the DLC scanner. Will stuck EGR cause the engine not to go above Idle speed.
changed fuel filter and idle air control accuator also.
It is not watered down gas because starting fluid gets same results.
ANY Ford TFI type ignition experts out here?
oh yeah I am getting plenty of voltage from BAT anf I have change MAP sensor.
change EGR valve it was stuck. It will crank cold but will not acclerate at all. just bogs down or goes dead. High PSI fuel pump maybe?
please advise

It is not the EGR valve , hell we used to block em off with a ball bearing in the old days ...
I would check the fuel system plus electrical ...
Could be anything ...

Catalytic converter clear? I bet I've chunked 50 of 'em that came unwound and created the same symptoms....

blow out of the tail pie is ok, but weird howling sound also. plenty of exaust though but I may un hook pipe from manofold just for a quick test, 4x4 you are correct could be anything this time. Last year motor would turn over just fine and I told the owner my landlord also. that TIME has jumped. then all the neighborhood up all night tweakers came over with all these bright ideals and before I could convince the guy he had changed TFI ignition mind you.(all of it) 1. the distributor(wrong one) tfi module. the one off of the wrong DIS. so wrong.
then changed plugs twice and ect.ect.ect. they said plug 1 was lined up at TDC so it was not timing chain. I held my finger over cly1 and told them to turn crank with a wrench and it was on # 1 alright just wrong stroke, It jumped 180. they kept moving the wires saying the computer would accomodate. Finally I went home till they ran out of shit to smoke and when threy left I replaced timing gears and chain and put it all back to battlesite zero and BAM first shot was up and running. What is it with these midnite MEchanics, stay up all night working on shit.
anyway thanks for the feed back guys , ya'll are a great asset to this wonderful site in many ways.
oh I just had to shatre that story cause they laugh when I pull out the shop manual. hehehe I laugh when I pass then in the am on the way to work having to work on thier shit for 2 hours to make it to work.

lucky one tank.(two pumps) I did lay on ground (shop full of his ole lady's shit) and the one on the rail does run when cranked. will ofcourse runs briefly when first cut switch on. funny thing is I can hear the fuel squirt back in the tank. I wonder if there is a way to rig up some kind of PSI guage in line somewhere?
Thanks for the help, me and him got this deal. I keep his tractor, truck, camareo, and tv up and he gives me free rent. Damn if I aint a endentured servant huh!
lets review.
1. will crank, will NOT go above idle.
2. egr is not stopped up and as mentined above SO WHAT!
3. TPS is working acording to reading the manual says it should have.
3. changed MAP sensor and it checks as well.
4. thinking it is fuel system now getting 11+vdc ay fuel pump on rail and it is running. changed in line fuel filter the round one between tank and Hi PSI pump.
tried a little starter fluid to keep it going just for kicks sprayed in throughtle bodie then decided that was lame ass ideal :-)
5. to cold and rainy today to fuck with.
any other advise will be greatly appreciated.

IS THIS MODEL JTAGABLE. LOL
would trade a few IRD's for a good F1503m (Mili's ofcourse) with autoroll

there is no valve for fuel psi check. I made one using a freon vaule for air conditioners. I know not made for it but I tested it and it calabrated at 3 psi. when I checked low psi pump it read 7 so thats 5 psi right.
ok went to high side on engine side of supply line damn thing shot up to 75psi.. Pressure reg bad maybe?.. ok changed itchecked it with a vacum pum and it did loose vacum. The new one did not. cranked it and it ran like a sewing machine for a minute then same shit different pile. next dry day going to take exhaust loose but like I said it gets plenty out of tail pipe even kinda a hissing sound.
took the smog shit loose and checked all the test the book says to. all eec compoants check ok. only KOEO code is 87 low fuel open circiut.
KOEO get egr not idle operater error(not pressing throttle before test)
well have lifetime warrenty on main pump so what the hell. gonna try it.
all plugs firing getting good blue spark with tester thing.
Damn I hate ignorance!!!!!!!!!
bottom line will crank barley idle will not pick up at all.
tps ok. egr sensor ok, map ok fuel psi reg ok.
will over psi on fuel do this.

Well, good to see you over here, Gordy..stay a while. I just found your old act script....it's in a file called Activate HU. Wonder if the tier wipe block still works.... :)
Seems like one of our lady members told me about 3 weeks ago that she was still using it. Wow, that must be some sort of a record.
Anyway, has anybody fixed Fubr's truck yet? Or is it truly FUBR? :p

to wet and cold down here to worry with it tonite, maybe this weekend, found out got a lifetime warrenty on fuel pump so after checking the cat converter gonna change it and go from there.

BTW dam gordy your rep precedes you

oh yeah chief I found a new DMM at pawn shop for 40 bucks EXTECH 380762. gonna check evry volt and ohm on evry senser on evrything, truck, jtag, washer , dryer. reason I brought this up anybody can tell me is this a good deal are they good multimeters. got ALL the little hook up connecter hickies,

Double 00 you to man I thank you both,
Took one of the exhaust dounuts loose for trouble shooting purposes. and It ran like a swewing machine after I blew the soot out just a bit.
nest stop is muffler shop!!!.
Will it hurt to drive it with one side loose so it will acclerate about 2 miles to shop or should I have him get it towed.

00 I mislead you abit on the symptoms but i did have fuel probs too.
fuel psi was not right so thanks for helping test it, changed regulator its ok now.
my landlord says for me to tell you Love ya'll man his next bud is for you!!!

so last post, drive to shop or tow???

I had a feeling there was a blockage in the exhaust system once you said there was a weird whining sound...seen it too many times.
Drive it...won't hurt a thing.

just take cats off and bust guts out with long screwdriver or diggin iron.wutever u can shove in there.gonna save ya like 400 or 500 bucks.buy new clamps and put it back on.just like new.plus more power.if u have emmissions at your place well this fix might not work for u

no emisions here gordy backwood ass behind the times in this state. not that I am against emmisions I just think goverment should pay the inspection and up keep not the end user, they screw the enviroment more than we do, anyway.......
I told him I had a granada while back I busted the cat and pulled out the insides and welded a plate over the hole, he's more of the going to the shop guy for that . HE has welder I guess we'll see when he gets estimates for it , it has two BTW. We got like 50 old junkers neighbor moved off and left in the woods (mini junkyard) 3 ft of pipe and we could put straight pie to muffler. HEHEE wait till monday when he see how much it is gonna be bet my ass will be getting cutting torch loaded up..lol
