Ok I've checked all the power diodes and the CR14105 appears to be shorted but when I take it off I get a resistance one direction and open the other. Also I find I'm getting 40ohms to ground from either side and what appears to be a short between the 5th and 1st pin on the secondary of the transformer. Is there somthing I should be checking?

Thanks

try modding the IRD. if you jtag it and you get connection, i doubt you have electronic errors. lets hope its software related. if you don't know how to mod, send it out to one of the experienced modders and have them look at it.

when I hook up my jtag to the reciever I get odd numbers. its not 0000000 or fffffffff, Also the voltages on the power curcuit are about half the value they should be. I've taken out the voltage regulator and still get 40ohms to ground on CR14105. A good reciever gives me about 900-1000 ohms.any Idea?

well since its not 0000000 or fffffffff what is it?? my guess is you made a link with the jtag. flash the unit.

it reads different everytime right now its 0133462, It recognizes my jtag but the device remains unidentified and the option to manually pick isn't available. I'm sure its a hardware problem I just hope it isn't a short in one of the chips. I now see that all the pins in the secondary are common to one degree or another.

What are you reading for voltage at the +5v test point near the LED?

When you have CR14105 unsoldered, is there still a short at the pads? Check C14125 for shorts.

I'm getting 2.3vdc at the +5v test point and with cr14125 removed completely I still get 40ohms across pads at cr14105 and the same with it removed as well. Thanks the input is greatly apriciated
