A newbie's questions

click on the tab at the top of the page "getting started dtv" and read. you should get a HU aka P3 aka Football player card either a 5b or a 6b, card (it helps to have more than one card to test with) try to stay away from the 4b cards, they are just to subborn for a newbie. you will need 2 main programs Extreme HU 3.5a and WinExplorer 5.0 and the support files associated with each to make them work properly. With winexplorer you have a variety of great unlooping scripts, find and download as many as you can. You will need a HU loader/unlooper NOT a ISO Programmer (what charlie and bev use to test plastic). Just cruise around the forums here and read, read, read. I forgot about the reciver aka ird you should be looking for. Try to find 1st-4th generation ird's that way you will know that the ird's will work with HU cards, and you will able to find ird hard reboot information easily. Once again do some reading. Have fun testing. normsbro
