receiver ok, h card not, unless you just like the music,,need p3 or "football card" for testing dtv. Not sure if dish is any easiers or not, guess that depends on you. Need different equipment to test dish network though. Not same as DTV.

Pop the lid and see if the eprom is socketed.
If it is, you are looking at the easiest no-ZKT mod in the book.
Almost a must for watching dave these days.
