Could anyone give me a good advice on my situation.
After receiving 2nd letter from DTV with a draft court document. I visit a lawyer. The lawyer contact the DTV user group and found out that I purchased from Ambler.com in June 2002 with 2 bootloaders and emulators a programmer and a loader. Along with decoder membership on Feb. 2003.
I know it will put me in really bad situation right now. My lawyer give me several options. Which includes
1. Settle with DTV. (DTV asked for atleast $6000).
2. Wait for the court order and go to trail. This will cost me atleast $2000 for the attorney fees plus whatever the hourly charge of $185. If I win I don't get the attorney fees back from DTV.
If I lose, I have to pay DTV atleat $10000 per device.
In any case it will cost me thousands of dollars.
Can anyone have a good advice on how to handle this situation?
Is there a chance for me to win?

Thanks.

Make Dave jump through every hoop you can think of. First, make them prove it was you that made the purchase. Even if it was your credit card, it wasn't for you. (could have been your ex wife or anybody) Don't have a DTV dish on your house right now. Switch to dish if you must. You are better off to pay an attorney than to pay DTV. Make sure your atty is willing to adopt this approach as well. Dave is counting on you rolling over and paying. Don't go down without a fight. Then, if they do manage to win a settlement, claim bankruptcy.

Also, spend some time reading up in these forums about this and where to get free legal aid.
