Tech Details for the Non-techie...

You cannot use DirecTV with the Blackbird. Rather, you can connect up to 4 different LNBs to a 4-way switch (included) and one output to the receiver. Blackbird will understand each individual LNB signal, and download all the channels for that satellite. For instance, if one LNB were pointing as Dish Network, you would set up LNB 1 to download all 300 DishNet stations (PPV, sports, everything). This would populate channels 1 - 300 on the system.

If LNB 2 were pointing at another satellite company, you would then be able to set up LNB 2 to download channels 301 - 600. This can continue for up to 4 different satellite signals. Potentially, with enough dishes, you could flip from channels 1 - 1200, without missing any stations!!

Although you cannot get DirecTV, you can use your existing DirecTV dish on your house, and the LNB, as long as you properly re-point the dish to another satellite, such as Dish Network.

It's that easy!

Imagine, 1200 stations, no programming cards, no hashing, no blacklisting, and no fear of the dreaded DirecTV "letter" (for US customers). All you need is to enter public keys in the Blackbird with your remote to open all channels wide open in Dish Network. These keys rotate every few months, or longer. We can provide you with the keys within a few hours of changing and entering them in the system takes about 1 minute.

Demand is Huge

Any chance we could get you to dump the firmware on the blackbird and U/L it? I've heard that the Blackbird is similar to the fortec lifetime. I'd like to examine the files side by side and see if I can get the lifetime to work on bev as well as dish.

A flash to make the Fortec work on Bev??? I see the AL7BAR V2.23 just got the lifetime to work properly on Dish with no screen freeze. They're still working on the autoroll, but keys can be entered with the remote. I'd be really interested in anything out there in development or release that's got anything to do with Bev on the Fortec Lifetime.

what is a dvb pci card????

This is not too good to be true, considering that I have one right now. I have it hooked up the Bell Express Vue and it's currently getting 404 channels. It's just like a DVB PCI card, but in a receiver. It works great. I have some pictures of it and pm me if ya wanna know more info on it.

A Blackbird is a ST1000 FTA receiver, a dvb card is a pci card that you drop into an empty slot in your computer to allow it to emulate a FTA receiver, with the proper firmware it will allow you to watch satellite tv on you computer monitor

How often do you have to update the firmware ?

Don't you need a interface cable to PC?

I see updates all the time ... so what makes this different then updating ATmegas and etc ...?
