Which 3M are you using? Try switching cards. It may be coincidental, but Daves hash last Friday on 0109 knocked out the transponders on a Sony B65A in my spot beam. Once I put in 0206 every thing was back to normal. Keep changing transponders to get one locked in.

I always thought the same. Signal strength and transponders were dependent only on the dish alignment, cable, and reciever, but after recent hashes, it seems the card is involved also. Somebody, please correct me if I am wrong. To lock your transponder, try setting it,go to return with the reciever buttons. Do not use the remote. Then turn off power at the reciever. I have the same locking problem with the Sony B65A and that method seems to work

You cannot "lock" your transponders, the IRD only allows you to change transponders in the dish alignment setup, that's it.....The IRD will select the correct transponder based on the channel selected, for normal viewing.......
The IRD may remember the last transponder number you used for alignment/signal strength testing and the next time you go back to setup it may be that transponder, but you cannot lock transponders for viewing TV, if you could you would miss a lot of channels..........

Thanks for the info, Skinerd. I am still puzzled why the hash on 0109 put the Sony B65A to searching for signal. The usual transponders were at 0 strength. Everything was back to normal after putting in card with 0206. Tivo and 3 other IRDs from the same dish just experienced freezing and then went 721. I am curious because its never happened before. Any thoughts?

Just as a followup. I had to get this repaired at a shop. I guess the tuner chip had gone, or something to that effect. $70 for the repair, ouch!

You can usually pick up a good used one for $50 - $60, for working 430/431 receivers, so it's just not worth it to try and fix one when the tuner is bad.
And if you get lucky you can pick up a 430 for $30-$40.....
