Dear PayPal Customer,
We are writing to inform you that PayPal has updated its Acceptable Use Policy to clarify its position on the sale of Satellite and Cable TV Descramblers.
PayPal has always required all merchants to follow applicable laws governing the items they sell. >>Because it is often difficult to verify that sellers and buyers reside in jurisdictions allowing Descramblers, PayPal will not permit the sale of items that can be used to descramble or facilitate access to cable or satellite television programming without authorization from or payment to the provider of the programming.
Merchants will have until May 13, 2003 to comply with the Acceptable Use Policy. Authorized sellers of satellite and cable TV equipment can continue to use PayPal. For more information about how PayPal may be used, please see our Acceptable Use Policy.
We apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause you, and would like to thank you for your business.
