Power light flickers then goes off

I have two modded 430's that when plugged in the power light lights for a few seconds then goes off. I have reflashed many times and still dead. I know this has been asked before but I was wondering if there ever was a positive answer. They both have the M29 chip. Any help greatly appreciated.

good news is if u can flash then the receiver is still good. bad thing is there are so many things that i could tell you to try but its a bit hard to tell what it is without looking at the board. did u cut any traces, spilled any excess solder on the board?
