I don't quite understand what you are asking?I will assume that your receiver is not turning on(no power).And when you opened it up you found a burnt cap. or something like that?What caused the short? If you don't fix the original problem,if you replace the capacitor it will only blow again. Was it a power surge(fuse blown)?
Are there any markings on it?
