I've been trying to mod a DRD 222 for a week now and I just CAN'T get the FLASH unlocked for the life of me. I've done hundreds of 420's so I know it's not a jtag or BFR problem. Is there a way to supply an outside 5v power supply to pin 56? I'm no circuitry expert but I have a voltmeter. If anybody has any ideas other than the ones listed in the "how to" I would greatly appreciate it.
I always get stuck after I punch in the data of "0060" and "00D0" When I do that and try to enter flash mode, I get a "4354/5434 error" or something to that effect.
Thanks in advance.

solder all wires to the board including that pin 56 wire. that might help u a little. also don't forget to reset the IRD if u error out.

I HAVE soldered all wires, including the 56pin! It is still not working. Like I said, this receiver is identical to the 420's EXCEPT For the 56 pin lead. I have done over 100 420's flawlessly, so the only thing I can see it being is something is wrong with my lead. But I can clearly see with a magnifier that the connection is good. Is there another way or another pad you can use to supply external power to the chip?
Thanks for the reply.

Problem solved. For some reason I just re-attached everything and after 100 tries it just worked for some unexplained reason. Possibly there was a TINY connection between pins 55 and 56, even though I didn't see anything with a 4x magnifier.
Thanks for the replies.
