Yup! 2 '70 Darts, 1 w/transpanted 340 six-pak 4-spd, later put in a bigblock, 2nd w/340 4bbl. auto stock, '73 'Cuda w/ tranplanted 383 Magnum, '72 Challenger w/340 4bbl. auto... Some other Mopar stuff too... My Six-Pak Dart did mid-12's, but never consistant (4spd)... Lots of fun... I do the "monster truck" thing now... '93 Ramcharger... You?

Guess I'm gonna have Mili start a retired drag racer's forum... :D Yeah, been racing for nearly 40 years. 4x4 and myself became acquainted as a result of a mutual interest in the sport. My first car was a 56 Chevy with a 283/2x4 carburetion, Muncie 4 speed...man, I thought I was fat-cattin'. Then I built a sleeper - a 1966 Caprice with a pretty hot 454. It weighed 5000 pounds and would run 12.90's with street tires, through the mufflers. Plenty stout old street car in 1970....but 6 mpg was a little hard to take, even at 25 cents a gallon.
Built a Super Gas Vega wagon in the early 80's... a mid-9 sec, 140 mph car. It was a big wheelstander, and a ton of fun, but like most any racecar, they take up a lot of time and money, and I finally got rid of it in 1990.
My wife's nephew would talk to you for hours on end...he is a certified MoPar freak. He has a fully restored 1970 Challenger, Plum Crazy in color, 340/6 pak (came that way, not a transplant)...and it is one nice ride.
Monster trucking, eh? They're pretty cool...they all come to town about once a year (Bigfoot, Bearfoot, etc) and put on quite a show for everybody. Do you tour with yours?
Glad you like my hemi. The car that thing's mounted in runs the quarter mile in 4.4 seconds at over 330 mph.
Wow, they've come a long ways since I started hanging around the local strip when I was 14....

My “monster” is a street driven “monster”… Not like the “Big’uns” you see on TV (Bigfoot, etc). Just a little guy to get me to my fishing holes… It’s got about 10 inches of lift, 38” tires, 4.56 gearing, and a massaged 360 putting out about 400 square (hp/torque)… Nothing too radical… But the fuel mileages stinks! ~8 m.p.g.!!! I’m thinking Diesel transplant now… Cummins 5.9 Turbo would do the trick… Ah, someday when I have a few more bucks!
Tell your nephew he’s got a real “gem” there… “T/A”s are worth big money now! That’s where my 340 Six-Pak came from… One hell of a good motor, if it’s original… Lots of good “internals” (better than standard 340s)…
I did the “Chevy” thing back in ‘92 (’75 Stingray)… I rebuilt the motor and trans and put a small fortune into it… It went good and handled great… Not being a “Chevy guy” by nature, I was impressed by the power it was making, but in the end, came “home” to Dodge… It’s what I grew up with and it’s what I know… I must be getting old… I hate change… :p

You better add me to that list, guys. lol. 32 yrs of racing 1/4 mile. I still have a 66 396 chevelle that runs 9.80s and a pro street 67 chevy II with a caddy 500 punched to a 514ci. That baby rips pavement. 715 ft lbs of torque @ 1800 RPM. I take it out in the summertime to keep me young ;)
