Like the subject says - trying my hand at repairing an IRD and I get this message. I'm getting 0x?D4C9041 ok but the error pops up as a critical stop. I cannot read the eeprom or anything further. Any ideas?
TIA

If you really want someone to reply to that message you should give the IRD brand, model and what brand flash chip it has along with flash chip number. Or you could sprinkle sparkle dust on it, close you eyes and say "oh please work this time" three times and then reboot it.

I've looked around for some of that magic dust but they're all out around here. So here goes..
RCA 440RE
Intel TE28F160
Dual Chip IRD

That one is out of my expertise, however, now you should hear from someone who has work on one. But if I were to make a wild guess I'd would suggest that you make sure BFR is sent to ground when you power up. Just a guess.

Got any sparkle dust? I'm going to email some people that helped me out on my IRD and I will get back with you. I think it's the Intel chip and I don't think anyone has had any luck unlocking it so far. I'll get back

What is the number on the chip and confirm it is an RGA, thanks

Try another computer. I had the same problem with a Gateway, went to a HP, even though it sucks at everything else, I can use it to run jkeys. Also, make sure none of your wires are touching.
no success....i don't get it..
