are u pulling the plug of the IRD and pluging it back in before you press ok. If you can read your boxkeys I don't know why it would not do flash programming.

I think you have internal problems with that IRD,bud.I have one right now with the same issues.Using buffered JT(always)...reads fine, gets the same 2 messages and info, then greys out the SA Select fields. One time,it finally allowed me in...erased SA3 and restreamed. This thing won't pick up even transponders, which kills most of the PPVs.Odd ones are fine.I looked in the sat infeed can for a bad solder joint(from previous experience)but no luck on this one.Tried putting a heat gun on the area as per another thread I found but still nada.I've some indications from another thread but haven't bothered to get to it yet.if I figure it out,I'll post it.

Are the Quad Jtag buffered? I have a 2800 that won't power up but I can read and write with no problems. Could the Quad cause this or is this a common
problem that can be fixed ? I tried the grounding of pad 1 with no luck.

I have had the exact same problem with a 301-010 using a simple jtag that I hardwired in.
It turned out that for me I simply switched to another computer and had no problems reading or writing from that one.
Checked the original computer, and I then disabled (in the bios setup) the bidirectional capabilities of the parallel port and set it to standard, and it works ok now.
