I have a friend's ird "301.013" which is sub'd but all I can get is the program guide. I get the information at the top of the screen on each channel sub'd such as name of program, network, show rating (G,PG,PG-13,R) time & date, time remaining. But the screen is black. I suspect that his dish & lnb are different. System information shows dish 500 card ready. But this also shows up on my 2700. My dish and lnb are from an old DTV system. A side note concerning the System information. Location ID shows different (hex) every few hours. Just random letters and numbers. This is very strange. I have never noticed the location ID on the 2700 change except for the times when the appropriate sector is erased and updated, following an ecm attack. A possible reason may be from changing from dish 300 to dish 500 to super dish, in an effort to pick up sub'd channels. I did notice that super dish was not pointed at the 119 sat. as indicated by the nomanclature at the very bottom of the screen. But when I set the ird to dish 300, after a while, not sure the amount of time, the ird set's itself to dish 500. This is very confusing to me. If anyone can offer an explanation, that would be a big help.
I do want to mention another slight problem. It is very difficult finding the sweet spot where the card (rom10 A21) meets the contacts of the ird's reader. Once found, it doesn't take much to upset it. Any thing I can do for this pain in the a$$ ?
