If it is a RCA 435, it can be converted, if it's a Hughes or Sony or what ever, not likely.

Hello, saw the last commentor mention something about making changes to a RCA 435 receiver. What changes can be made? Where can I find info on that?

you can nozkt mod the 435, and it will work with a P3. My understanding is that you will have to do some soldering just like with other nozkt mods, and that you will have to reflash it to get it to work with a P4 if that becomes necessary. The files and how to are in the downloads under nozkt.
