For sure it worked before modding??
Usually a bad or corrupt flash will cause the receiver to appear dead, not flashing led....
sounds more like a power supply problem.......or a solder splash somewhere it should not be.

Corrupt eeprom is also a possibility, not likely, but possible, reflash with the original. You did save it, right?

Look closely for solder splashes too, all it takes is a tiny-tiny one to short 2 oins together.

I have seen the tiniest of solder specks short between 2 pins, look at how close some of those pins are, it don't take much.
