View Full Version : hard to unloop card
They are both on my downloads pages on dssftp and dssmili.com
You open and run the XVB file in Winexplorer. You need to set the settings in Winexp to UNLOOPER

Hey, Mili, had a pesky card today that needed unlooping- exHU tried for 20 minutes, no luck- I reached down and switched the volts from 7.5 to 9 and it popped in less than 3 seconds. The other operations- writing, cleaning, etc.- went MUCH faster- 5 to 10 times as fast- as they did at 7.5V. I got excited over this deal. Question- any danger to the AIO loader or card at this voltage level? Thanks- Chief
You can put as much as 24Volts to it but it will get HOT.

I think they're regulated internally at 9 VDC.... You can put more to it, but it will just dump it as heat.... Extra heat will most likely shorten the life of the components....

It gets regulated down to 5 Volts. If you raise the Voltage I found that the current decreased a the other side of the regulator and that is what made the difference. The Voltage is always 5 volts.

Mili and Mdeven, wonder what exactly is transpiring inside the loader that makes it more effective with a 9V setting- especially since you noted that it all gets regulated down to 5V at the end. It most definitely made a dramatic difference, like I said, anywhere from 5-10 times quicker. Unloop sequence began in less than 3 seconds. I/O operations such as writing eeproms, cleaning, etc. began instantaneously, and I mean on the 1st attempt. Does it just glitch the card faster? I'm going to just leave it at 9V- certainly no need to try anything higher. Thanks, ya'll, for your comments. Chief

It has to do with protons and neutrons....
Some thing defy description....

Mark, who knows. But, I just thought of something- if the word gets out that some cat in north Texas can unloop cards in 3 seconds somebody's gonna have some questions. At the very least I'll bet some power supplies get turned up. Seriously, I know this is a minor deal that lots of folks have tried, but it sure made a difference here. Protons and neutrons, huh? whatever, bro...... Thanks again, appreciate ya- Chief

Hey Chief...I can unloop a card in 0.05 seconds.... The real tough one's take me around two mins....
Keep working.... Maybe more protons heh?

Must be something special about you folks from South Carolina. We went to Jerusalem a few years back- met two ladies from Charleston(?), I think, and I spent half my time there laughing at those old broads and just listening to the way they talk. It's kinda like listening to someone from Australia, or something. If you talk that way, maybe your cards unloop in .05 just so they don't have to listen to you jabber at 'em all day long... HEEHAW. Ain't got nothin' to do with molecules..Chief
