JTAG Question

Hey guys, ok i feel really stupid asking this question, but i couldn.t really find any info about it.

I have a 2800 model receiver with jtag port, bought a regular JTAG device hooked it up ran the latest jkeys

put the jtag on my receiver (yes i verified the correct pins and everything)

But it says unknown device.

So my questionis does the receiver need to be plugged into the stream (hooked to the sat cable) while i am JTAG'ing


I plugged in the receiver ran jkeys same thing unknown device.

I plugged in the receiver and turned on receiver power same thing unknown device.

And no there wasnt any smoke :)

When you read the tsop you must have the IRD powered on. (not plugged into the dish) If your getting the 0x0000000 error, then you most likely don't have the pin out correct. Make sure you have the right pins on the right pads.
