Just to add insult to injury....
At 5:50 EDT programming was interrupted by
'Downloading a software upgrade please wait'

Since the RGA is now toast, I had the RG with intel flash connected and got the message 'Software update was unsuccessful. Another attempt will be made later.'

Anyone with an RGA connected at that time will probably need to reflash.

Did anyone with pin 14 grounded avoid the update?

Got an RGA myself but nothing so far, I haven't don't #14 to GND yet. Check future update but nothing there. Is it the regional thing or did you have the latest update?

Your gonna need to reflash that IRD....and then if you want to use it your gonna have to sub it. I'm just saying its easily repairable. It's not trash. (The RG, not the one that got hit by lightning.....that one is probably toast)

JT,

I saw this update when it happened unlike the first one when I only saw the message afterward. The RG has the Intel flash write protected. It went back to regular programming after 'Another attempt will be made later.' Interesting that 'Software update was unsuccessful' did not remain on the screen like the first time.
