Just getting started

I have done some reading and think I am ready to get into Dish.
I am just trying to clarify some information.
First I understand I need bring in both sat. signals to my receiver(301.010), this can be done with a dish 500 or 2-18" dishes with a s21 switch. Next I need a jtag to gain access to the receiver.
That is where I am at now, getting ready to place and order for the other equipment.
With the above all set I will be needing to buy a magic card(could go with a rom card but I like the sounds of magic) and a reader/writer for the magic card.
Now my questions, with a magic card will I need a digital tsop lock or I could sign up for 6 month blocker service for this to work or are both needed? Once I have this done am I set to test or am I missing any equipment I need? Thanks for any help from this wonderful community.

the blocker only protect the cam from getting stream locked.
the lock stops the receiver from getting courpt during an ecm. does not prevent ecm just protects ird from changes being made to put your location back to 00000 or 000001
other than that sound like a good set up your shooting for. 301 and sw21 for 110 and 119 get lots of channels.

So a blocker is not required on a magic card, because the magic can't be looped from the stream. A blocker is used to kept a rom card from being changed, right?

I did not say that and I have no Ideal on the magic card. I dont know if blocker is required or not. . yes it is used to prevent a rom from being changed, a good one will anyway, becarefule using public ones. I have lost my secret password more than once using public blockers.
somebody will answer that about the magic card in a minute I am sure.
