Just like when that big asteroid hit the Gulf of Mexico millions of years ago, making the dinosaurs migrate to different continents, the fall of the infamous HU card will make hordes of Direct TV testers migrate to Echostar or BEV in the next couple of weeks. So what a best place to post this thread that in the Newbies Forum!!!

Yes I am talking to all of you fellow testers that trashed your HU cards this week and are trying to get enough information in the forums to get started testing Charlie and Boris birds in the sky ...

You should get ready for a big change and I surely hope you like reading and learning a lot. Testing BEV and Dish is a true hobby, an art, an exercice for your brain... DirectTV is like playing checkers with just one big player on he board (HU Card) and with simplistic moves (getting bins if tiers start to drop)... However DishNet and BEV are like chess, in the sense that you have different pieces that move differently in the board (ROM2, ROM3, ROM10, ROM11, ROM10X, DSSRev, ATMEGA, MAGIC CARD, AVR, etc...) and that you always need to be 1 move ahead of your opponent (in this case Charlie or Boris) to avoid the fatal checkmate (ECM)...

Getting Bins surely was an easy task, you either have a friend that gave them to you or you had dealer support and got private bins. Dave's tester boys did not have the need to know the inside outs of their receivers, the theory behind the tiers and a variety of programs that are greater in numbers than you can count with your fingers... Testing DirectTV sure was easy, now if you are here looking for quick answers in Echostar systems you are so wrong... You were playing in elementary school with a kid called Dave that just stole your candies every now and then... now you will be playing at University with Charlie, and he is a mean bully, he will kick your butt with the rage of a bull and Location 00001 is the only thing you will watch after the storm passes... Boris is not that bad however his techniques and attacks are unpredictable as well, but this is your best bet so you can get the feeling of what testing Echostar system is all about...

So here's my piece of advise for all of you, in the savvy words of Geddy Lee from Rush : TEST FOR ECHO !!!! and ROLL THE KEYS !!!

And Good Luck!
