DTV guy needs 6000 help please???
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Greetings Charlie people:
Need help, I'm new from DTV and have a model 6000 receiver:
1.what is the best way to get going with this one. Should I use magic card or will AVR be good enough. Anyone with 6000 experience would sure be appreciated.
2. I have DTV dish will this be any use , can I use it instead of dish300 for HDTV?
3. Are rom 11 cards no use
4. what happens if a card has a balance on it, can you still use it?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated and Mili will be glad that I finally started using the forum instead of bugging him. Anyone have a good plan of attack?undefined
dude be glad to help but all 8 of your post in diferent threads is hard to keep track of.
aint no big deal so dont be all I am sorry wont happen again. it all good bro were here to help
I am worlds wore at changing topics is thread but as evilbob so politely pointed out lets try to keep this sorted out so the mods can not have to spend time moving stuf around.
pick one of your threads and lets disccuss this all the way through in that thread. I dont want our wonderul mods having to spend any time sorting my shit out.(BROWNIE POINTS PLEASE).
MAGIC CARD BECAUSE YOU DONT NEED BOX KEYS.sorry caps lock.
dish 300 will get you one bird only.
card with a balance no good if locked you can clean the balance if it is open

thanks for answering some of the questions. I didn't quite understand what you were saying to me in the first part but I think you were trying to tell me to not post the thread in different areas. I did it because I am new and started the threaed in the wrong section and didnt' get any replies so I figured it was because it was in the wrong area so I pasted it in the right one and then you replied immediately. Sorry about it but I know better now. Can I use my DTV dish as a substitute for the dish 300, since I will need a dual to get the regular programs the 300 would be needed for HDTV signal.

is rom 11 card any use? how would you know if a card is locked or not and how much is an unlooper if it is locked?
dont be sorry dude I just lost track of you.. lol.
ok
dish 300 NO HD, only regular channels on 119 or 110. if you get the guide.
get a sw21 and another dish 300 and point to 61. then HD will come in.
best thing if your serious would be dish500 built in sw21 and then get another sw21 and hook you dish 300 aimed at 61. check mili's getting started and dish pro section on bell evpress vu site. (link at top.
2. programmer not unlooper. I dont know how much. unplug sat feed stick in rom 11 see what rev it is and maybe somebody can answer you. I know jack about rom 11.
find out before you start to try and load a image on it and dont stream it unless you got sub.
did it come with 6000 receiver?
I have never seen yellow cam in one and was told wont see one for a while so if it did you could kill that mythe for me.
using dtv dish for sub maybe if you only want one bird. again read the part on getting started about the dish pro technology. I have used one on a DTV lnb but like i said one bird and I forgot what kind it was. at least you can go get a dish pro lnb and drill it into the arm of your dish and maybe some duct tape. still only one bird unless you get a swicth. go read about them and see what you have and what you need .
dont forget to let me know DID the yellow cam come with the 6000 and if so from where. please dont say from echo!!

I dont' know what that means "please dont' say from echo". I dont' have anything right now, but needed your help to know what to get. Should have 6000 soon and then I will get back to you. Thanks for all your help.
means I hope echo does not sending out 6000 with yelloow cams. could be the reason they are not a target for ecm.
I heard there is a adapter you can get to use legacy lnbs with dish?
might want to search that out and see.
