Never have found one that works for both.
At least without some small hassle.

You need a unlooper programmer for Dave and
just a stright programmer for charlie.

You could use a unlooper/programmer for both
but this only works for a charlie Rom3 cam. Won't
work for any other rom2, rom10 or rom11. But
works fine for dave's HU cams. Of course you will
have to reflash the Atmel every time you want to
change from charlie to dave or dave to charlie.

Your best bet is to bite the bullet and buy one
programmer for each system.

I have NOT seen a unlooper/programmer thats does both, get one for each and then that way you are not playing with dip switches, dac settings, volts etc, less prone to errors. Just my opinion, GTG.

P.S. The extra mile and dollar(2 programmers) will pay for itself in TV viewing and bitching hours...:D

The unlooper I am talking about is a standard
Dave H or HU unlooper. You just need a little
program called Ebox for charlie's rom3 cams.
It comes with a flash called Echo-boot for the atmel.

Switch setting don't seem to matter on the Ebox
proggie. I just use the same settings used for
the HU on my unlooper.

You could get a dual crystal programmer ..

I have a Mikobu III and the dual crystal Omega II ..

Right now the Omega II does all cards with the flip of a switch ,
DTV , BEV , Dish and hopefully the P4 ..

BTW , there is a hack for the P4 but they aren't showing their hand quite yet and it looks like the Omega II will handle it ..

Only time will tell...

It's on the way to mili's FTP site. The file is
called:

echoloader.zip

I have never tried it on a true HU loader. So I don't
know if it will work on them.

It does work fine on a H unlooper after flashing
the atmel.
