I guess it is time once again to subscribe, last time was when the H to HU change hit(another sad sad day :-(
Can anyone provide details on some good sites that offer Canadians a directv subscription service?
I have found 2 thus far, but one requires a 1 year subscription and I am waiting to hear details back from the 2nd.
I tried google but that just gives 100's of unrelated hits.
Many thanks.

Are you familliar with HU Works? They got pinched over a year ago. They had a few walk in places until the RCMP went shopping.
I never thought you could get a legal sub in Canada.
The phone line has to be plugged in for new subs and the initial set up ..
You also have to give a land line number from your location ...
When activated it verifies that it is from the original sorce that put in the order , how are you going to duplicate that ??

Well I have used one of the subscription services before, they setup a us address and have a phone # I guess. As for the update, you don't need the phone plugged in.
The key word here is " before "
Your right but that was all done before the law was changed ..
I also have many friends in Canada that are subscribed right now ...
It just won't work for new subscribers unless you can figure out a ph number in the states that will work with it ....
So yes it can be done !
That is the old HUWorks , as soon as they got took down they went off shore and undergrond... I know the guy's that ran a couple of their places , I hope their not scamming people like the rest are , good lord !
Right Barry ???

Well it looks like I will be using the people I used before then. I was just reading an update on going legit at their site, which is of great interest to people now the cut-over has happened.
Thanks.
I know them and I am just wondering when the start of the HU went down if this is an option they have , they have the man power and are millionaires ...
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !
I know for sure that they don't know squat about Dish/BEV so maybe this is there way out for the customers ...
I have a friend with them , I'll email him ..
Fucking bad deal though but what the hell !

I was able to subscribe last week, had a buddy call in and sign up using his usa address and credit card. They did say that if I needed a p4 card, it would be 90 bux, but I had one that had not been sub'd yet.
On the same topic, can anyone tell me how I can get channels 380 - 389? I signed up for the 6 dollar extra locals, but I still get ext 721 on 380-389, and I can't find any local channels in the 400's or the 900's.
With the HU, we have been able to get locals from as far away as mississippi (we are in western canada) so I did not think it was spot beaming, but maybe I am wrong. Anyways, my buddy is about 400 miles away, so maybe we are out of range? Help?

I did exactly the same thing ...
OK , this isn't hacking now , you are only going to be able to get what he gets if it isn't out of range , I think 400 miles is ...
