1000 ird

i have a 1000 ird with old firmware that i need to update ,however with all the ecm's in the stream i am afriad of 00001 the ird,how would i get new f/w with a rom 3 or rom 10 card,i have a lock already installed for after i get the update.i am guessing that i would just install a clean image and blocker only,or ?.
also does the JYF still work for the 1000 ird on dish.
any help would be appricated.thanks in advance.

JY is fine on 1000, Do not need a card in it to do it and restream, Turn lock off and in stream powered up short tp59 to dgnd until the power light turns off, No card in it, Then wait and it should update, When the receiver is done it will ask for card and then go to its sys info screen. Hopefully your lock is newer, The new firmware targets older locks causing nag 151 or 155 now.

The JYF Will Not Work With Dish For The x000/x500 Type Receivers! You Can Still Do It With Bev Though. If You Do The JYF On The x000/x500 Type Receivers, They Will Never Update In The Dish Stream. You Have Been Warned!

THANKS,THATS WHAT I THOUGHT.by the way how can i update it for dish without getting ecmed,also is the new lock for this a d7 lock or is the one chip 74ac02 still ok.thanks in advance smurftoon

You Can Update The Receiver Without The Card In The Receiver. I Updated A 1000 This Past Weekend With Out The Card. Make Sure It's Set To Upgrade Without My Permission In The Menus and has Good Signal Strength. The Older Two Chip Locks Work Just Fine On The Older Receivers.

Hey Birdie; nothing happens when I short those two points even for a minute. The green light stays on all the time. Any suggestions?
