"All fine and good if you have a permit to own a select fire weapon.... Capacity is the only thing the 9mm has going for it.... The round is much too fast to be any good as home protection.... It's there and gone before the bullet has a chance to expand....
The .45 may not have the capacity or cyclic rate (there are .45 ACP autos), but when I hit you with that fucker, you're staying down.... I don't need the capacity anyway, I'm that good
Besides, the best weapon for home protection is the 12 guage marine flare pistol.... The whole torso becomes a one shot kill.... Eight to ten seconds of phosforous burn means that when all is said and done, you just run the vacuum.... Clean-up is a breeze.... I think you may even be able to write it off on your taxes as entertainment....

The flare won't over-penetrate.... That's the problem with using most handguns for home protection.... The bullets (even HydroShocks and the old Black Talons) travel too fast to expand to thier full potential.... In some cases, as with the 9mm, at closer ranges the bullet actually passes through the sorry fucker before it expands at all.... I was shocked when I saw the results of test firings.... We, at a local range, decided to do some testing of our own.... We got a bunch of homeless people together :D c'mon just kidding.... We fired into some ballistic geletin (I hang out with a bunch of cops).... The results were even worse than the reports we read.... The conclusion we came up with was Glasers are by far the best for close range combat....
The flare however, is that powerful.... It will enter the torso and burn interior.... It will pretty much ash everything....
Yep, I'm a sick puppy ;) If you can get past my German Shepard, I wouldn't take too long patting myself on the back ;)

I believe that you should teach a youngster that a gun has only one purpose and that is to KILL.... If you STRESS safety, and only let them shoot with you, it'll get through thier thick little skulls (freakin' mutants)....
In Europe, the .380 is known as 9mm Kurtz (German for short).... The same bullet can be used to load 9mm .38 or .380.... Pussy rounds.... The only decent .38 calibre round is the .38 Super....
You can buy different rounds for the flare pistol too.... I've seen many advertised.... From pepper to Fleshette.... Some folks are actually selling them as a kit of sorts and charging outrageous amounts.... Buy the damn thing at KMart, then buy the fancy stuff if you want....
I would be interested in how the ATF would view a Gattling....
