According to Mili's site at bellexpress on what to buy, he states
" A Digital lock if your receiver is NOT a 301 or 501 (optional) "
So does that mean that a 301 does not really need a digital lock? Could someone shed some light on this for a newbie? Thanks!
proggy called flashedit2 will let you write a softlock in the program to flash back to your rteceiver.
or the better way is use a progrry like hexworkshop or hex edit to write the soflock manually. when the ecm does rain down you just pull your card and re-insert it.
I had a friend I set one on and he is still up been 2 months first time around then he needed card refreshed and aint heard from him since.
I am not sure but I think if you have a good script and private blocker it should not get hit.
I have a 4900 been up for almost 2 weeks no lock whatsoever on the ird just on the cam.
like I said I am not sure you would have to see the private blocker thread and main page to verify that, I am just saying till I took the ppv off and put the Blocker on it was going down evry 15 minutes.

I was looking for info on softlocks and the 301. All this blocker and lock and TSOP and JTAG stuff is making my head spin!
If you want to use the blocker you can't open PPVs?
Thanks,
Aiko
me too bin doing alot of reading and i still don't know whats what
I dint say you counld'nt do It. I am now. I had to use the correct settings for ppv.
I stated that on the 4900 I took off the ppv's to see if it got hit,
I have ppv on it now and it has not been hit. no lock on the ird at all.
as for a 301.010 softlocks work very well at the moment.
this is the privte blocker I am using,
YES YOU CAN have a blocker and PPV's
actually You must have a blocker with or without ppv. or you will have you card streamlocked
sorry if I mislead you on the ppv thing, the ppv's are a big target right now
you have to find the thread that tell how to tighten them up on the hi and lo event id on the script you are writing.

or use flashedit2 it has a box to add softlock to the tsop file you open in flashedit.
the manual method works better if you have a hex edit program.
all a softlock does is when you pull the card it reset the receiver so you do not have to jtag it.
try to make a smaller target on your cam and the 301 will not get hit as much.
softlocks juts eleminate having to hook jtag back up evrytime.
If using flashedit2 open the program and where it ask for a file put in your tsop back up and then click the box "write softloc"
then click save as and choose personal dump. then put something in the file name so you know it is the file that has the softlock in it, then go to jkeys and erease the flash and re-write the flash you JUST saved in flashedit with the soft lock in it.
now make sure you got a good cam ID and just put a few tiers and a BLOCKER on you cam and test it awhile..if you wrote the softlock correctly when it gets hit just pull the cam and reinsert it it will reboot.
then before it gets hit again read your cam and try to figure outy why it got ecm.
like tiers that are not needed, bad cam id, ppv event id's incorrect. zip code time zone match,
zip code and locals match ect.....

For a 301-010, both flashes need to be saved.
