I just recieved my 5100/501 and it was supposed to be BEV but its actually programmed as DISH, so here goes my battle:
DISH programming works -- have dish pointed to DISH
Also have another dish pointed to BEV
Lock installed on 5100/501... moved it to "unlock" during entire process
Backed up my TSOP - Flash 1 & 2
Read and read all the different how-to's... figured SA54 and SA60 were the two locations to erase to cause the update. On different sites, different posts, every one says SA54 and/or SA60.
Erased SA54 Flash 2... put it in the stream... within 15 mins the screen says memory is being programmed, and it reboots, then sits with green light on... then reboots... the says memory is being programmed... this goes on and on. On one site, it actually says to leave in stream for 1 hour. Other reading has said it takes 15 minutes.
Regardless, I wait until it reboots, etc, no more on screen message, unplug, plug back in with Atmega/Magic Card (have both...) but its stuck with blank screen and green light.
I erased SA60 in Flash 2, put back in stream, same as above (reboots, on screen message, reboot, etc) and still a blank screen afterwards with green light. If left in stream, it would continue to update over and over.
Figured, put the flash 2 back....
I put the Flash 2 from my backup back on the 5100/501 and its back to normal on DISH network. Even works when pointed at BEV bird (only guide and music channels) but programming is still DISH, no other channels come in, DISH logo is there, etc.
Can someone possibly help, and let me know where I might be going wrong? I see the updates from the on screen msg, but not sure why it keeps trying to update, etc, or where/what to do next....
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
