OOOOPS!

I am thinking of changing from DTV to Dish and have been looking at their PVR's. I am hoping someone here will tell me how Dishdvr's, particularly model numbers 721 & 522, compare to a Series 2 Dtivo. Is video extraction to DVD possible through the usb ports as it is with a series 2 Tivo? What is the preferred method to hack a Dish DVR. I have read here and used google, but I may be using the wrong search terms. I'm hoping for somthing similar and as easy to tytools, but I haven't found yet.

Thanks,

Yes you can extract video and burn DVD's, with a series 2 Tivo. As long as it's modified to do so.

Here's a link for you. This seller is offering modified Tivo's for sale. They do exactly what you want.

Hope this helps.

Fluffy.

As for the 721 or other model Dish PVR's, I'm not sure. I think it can be done, you just have to find one that has been modified. Ask this seller if he knows how it can be done.
