3800 keeps rebooting

I have a 3800 reciever updated to firmware p231. It searches for signal and goes through the 1 of 5 steps and than reboots. the cycle repeats itself over an and over. Any ideas as to what is wrong or what Im doing wrong

you do not have any kind of lock installed by chance?
did the sys info screen change to model 3800 upgraded or to 3900 after the update?
p231 show current for 3900

cahnge to 3900 and p231 for the firm ware. Also a couple of minutes ago I wrote the eeprom to the reciever. I'm just waiting for the storm to pass so that I can get signal strength again. I wil keep you posted as to what happens
