Did you sub to any channels that are on the 82 bird ???
The main sat is 91 and the secondary is the 82 ..
With a dual LNBF you get the 20" dish ...
If so that would be why they want to make the swap ...

I have a 20'' and man does it work good , it holds a signal way better than the 18" dish ...
If you see the two side by side you would think the 20 is a 30" ...

I hope that is all it is ...

What channels or package do you sub to ??

You don't have to let them in if you don't want to , they would need a search warrant !

Yes , you are going to need a 20" dual LNBF dish to receive everything ...
You'll get allot more channels ...
I also beleive that the HDTV channels are on the 82 bird ...

If you go and buy the dish yourself yes you can install it yourself but if they sent you a letter they would most likely want to install it ...

The only thing is you can't just go and buy the dish , you have to buy a whole system ...
The extra LNBF from BEV is $89 plus tax so I would imagine that they can do it for allot cheaper ... You get two SW21 switches when you buy the extra LNBF but like I said , let them do it ...

i got the same letter , funny thing is , i already had the larger dish .

myself , i used the letter as toilet paper .

if you want the newer dish i'd go buy it myself ( there's always a bunch on ebay ) .

what you could also do if you want to hit both satalites is get another 18" dish , point it at the other bird and install a sw21 switch

I say let them install the new 20"dish , you said that you are subscribed to " the works " so that means they have to update your dish ( for free ) in order for you to get all the channels you subbed to ...

But if they decide to come and install it and then decide to go inside to check it, make sure all testing devices are well hidden away. If you have locks installed they could be hard to hide!

I think I'd let them install it, but not be home on the day they come to do it......lol.

You know what , the guys that install are just contracters and really don't care !
But yes , do like VJP said and hide everything , that includes a modded IRD ...

Good day to all,
Let them perform the upgrade of the dish pan.
The installers do not even have to enter your home.
This is all done from the outside.

They will probably take away the old 18" dish but use the original LNB in the second slot of the new yoke. They will install two yes two sw-21 switches, in case you need a second IRD.

if they "just show up " , thank them , then tell them that your very busy and they can leave the dish if they want and you'll install it at your convience .
if they insist that they install it , tell them your busy ( then procede to leave ) , the house is messy , or make up some other excuse . or be direct and tell them you don't want / need it .

i got the letter too , and i have a 20 inch dish , ( this is the same with many other people i know as well ) . so my thinking is they are looking to sniff out people testing .

bell hasn't gone after individuals yet , would you like to be the first to face a law suit , and made an example of ? many of bells other tactics have had very limited success , attempting to instill "the fear of god " by suing testers may very well be the next phase .

remember the only people who can forcebly enter your residence is a police officer with a search warrent .

by the way , i wouldn't be returning their phone calls , or aranging an appointment .
your much to busy to be bothering with them right now , aren't you ???
