I am trying to connect a 500 dish with a Dual Quad 4 LNBF P/N 214-5100454 to a 2700 IRD and so far I was told that you didn't need a switch because they switched auto, I just want to connect 1 IRD. Can someone help me out? Thanks!
P.S. I've looked at the Dish setups (2 single into a SW-21 ) then on to the IRD,but
the newer LNBF's I don't know. Thanks again for your help.

Your Quad is DP PRO, It is only compatble with dp receivers, A 2700 cannot control it and will not work properly. You will need a 301 or up or change the LNB multiswitch. A Adapter is avail, But Charlie asks too many questions and it costs about 80 bucks.

Thanks BirdieMODvisit, can I still use the LNBF thru a SW-21, for a single 2700, or do I need to get a regular TWIN LNBF then use thru a SW-21 into the 2700?
Thanks again for your help.

The dp por lnb will not work on 2700. The options are 1- Get a dp pro adapter for the ird( Spendy) or a older lnb non dp pro. Can also use A dtv dish or for 500 two dtv dishes and a sw21 with it and it will work fine.

Thank you again BirdieMODvisit. I got it! I should't have to ask too many more questions, I hope, until I get up.

I think I am in the same boat with a Dish Pro 500 on a 2800, can't seem to find the bird. I have two single Dav* LNBs, can I put these on the DishPro 500 dish and use them? If not, I could at least use old dav* dish and get just 119 right?

I believe U can, but U will need a SW-21 that that will take the 110 ,from one LNB and the 119 and combine the two to one IRD SAT input. U can also use two single Lnb;s and two 18" dishes from Dave , U still need to feed the Dishes to the IRD Thru a SDW-21.
Just Turn your Dave dish and LNB (Left,Facing it) and choose either the 110 or the 119 for the "Charlie Joy" until U get a SW-21. That's what I am doing. U can get the SW-21 on E-Bay for 5-10 buchs. Hope this helps!

Thx guys. I have a sw21 and will be aiming tonight.

I have another ? if anyone knows. I have read that the IRD sends different voltage back to dish. Is there any difference in tolerance of long sat cable runs because of this?

I have about 100ft run that worked fine with Dave (someone told me I might need a repeater but I didn't), but I am worried if I add the SW21 and 2 more short cables that cable loss might be too much. If it was, would I get searching for sat or just low sig strength?

Give it a try, Otherwise put the switch closer the the ird and run a second line from it back to the dish.
