Got this slim 301-13 in.. Ran a fast test and it'll take a blue card - no vid mod needed.

Thing is.. after figureing out the jtag points from the top, and getting into the JTAG to get the box keys.. jkeys just stopped reading .. It'd still get the keys and info, but reading the eprom would hang up. This is using a cheapo jtag I built. You know the type. IEEE cabling, and upto date fast CPU. No problems reading a 4700 or 3800 or 3900... just this 301... Hmmm...

I remove jtag wires. I did nothing else.

Okay - when hooking it back up to test the programmed card, it just wouldn't power up.. it'd power on, then power off. Eventually it powered up.

Okay - is this going to be a problem child or should I go ahead and install an AR105B?

Once I do this, I really shouldn't unload it on fleabay afterwards.

But... I sure do like the guide software, tho... and it did come with a nifty new remote...

These are nice IRDs, They are a little pickier on jtags, just keep the jtag cable as short as possible and it will have less problems

Okay - shorter cable. I was running it through a switchbox to my tower, so maybe a more direct connection. I allowed it to update the software from the stream last night, took all of 2 minutes for the new rev to show up. Now's the time ot get that TSOP image, even with a lock, as a "just in case".

Except for pin 7 of the perom, these locks are easy to install (for me). Even with my aging eyes and inability to see really small stuff up-close. But removing that eprom pin gives me the slop-sweats...
