Dont waste your time. The device that is needed to do 3000, 3500, 4000 4500 ird models is expensive and not very common. Get a 2700 4700 0r 301-10. Much more friendly to work with.

If You Don't have the Original Card For The Receiver, Do A Search For VoltMeter.

Sure he could waste a couple hours getting his keys that way maybe. Then if he can even get it to work, how is he supposed to re-flash the tsop after an ecm or if the firmware wont take an update from the stream? This person said "can anyone direct me to a place where i can learn how to ? " So that tells me that they dont know how to do dish. I know many people who have been doing dish alot longer than i have that wont even attempt to do one of those ird's. So you want to tell him to learn on one of these when you know it will be junk if it takes a hit? Mili said he wouldnt even waste his time or money screwing with one of those series ird's.
I will repeat myself, get another model ird to play with unless you are an expert at dish and have alot of free time.
