Get this my fucken landlord took my dish down today. Last night I put it up on the roof because a tree grew in were it was before. Now I have no place to stick the damn thing were I can get any signal. There is no “private area” for me were I can put it. Any ideas?
Start sucking up to your landlord ??

Or pay ur rent on time or early for a couple of months then ask him nicely. Or u could move.
I find cash bribes to be an effective means of persuasion when the tenants I manage want to make modifications to the property. Maybe even offer him a feed off of the dish if he lives on site. Be very tactfull if implimenting the second suggestion. You don't want to get yourself in trouble.
stick it in a bucket (5gallon) and concrete the pole. point it out a window if feasable.
if not mark a spot out side to set it and when he aint around or after dark go set it in that spot. .littlit tricky but temporay solutin.
On JT's bribing advice you could also find out who he is "doing" and threaten to tell his wife.
make him an offer he cant refuse. but try to do it tactfully as not to piss him off, sounds like a ol'timer pretty stuck in his ways.
maybe his wife needs a little game of hide the sausage then she can persuade him.
this hobby has enough obsticles, dont let this end your passion, reason with the guy, be nice give him time to come around meanwhile hide the bucket.
offer to record movies for him to watch also seems to work just dont telli him you aint paying for them.
most landlord are pretty cool if your straight whith them and pay on time. or when you say you will. RIGHT JT

I'd rather get a gun and shoot him, but that's just me :-). J/K
If you end up in jail your going to have a REALLY tough time finding a place to mount your dish, so don't shoot him. I would think that most landlords wouldn't have a problem with a dish as long as the mounting of it doesn't damage the property. If you get one of those tri-pods for your dish it will just be sitting on the ground. I would think that should be acceptable to any property manager. I can only speak for myself however.

When I had DTV I pointed it through a window. I had to use Plexiglas 2 pained windows are no good. That worked fine, until the tree near by started to grow leaves again. Then I put it just outside the window and they did not seem to care. Now that DTV is dead and I’m switching to Dish Network and the tree was completely in the way and I could not get shit for signal. So I got a ladder and put the dish on the roof of the 3 story building. Early the next morning they take the thing down and fine me $200 for “damaging” the roof. Complete fucking bullshit. They got a contractor to fill in 4 holes on the roof. It was not even on part of the real roof were it would leak; they just did that to be fuckers. Probably made money off the over billing. Now my only option is back inside through the window and the only dish I can pick up is the ExpressVu. So I took my 3900 receiver and used the flash in the download section to make into a 3700C for BEV. I had to copy it 4 times to make it 2mb, copied my box keys and whatnot. Got it all set up but it does not work correctly. The channels work on and off, like hashing on DTV. It rotates and everything. Any ideas on what I may have done wrong. Or any ideas on maybe other satellites I could pick up with more programming. I’m using a magic card in camless Rom 3 mode.
Thanks for the input

Hmm... gallons and gallons of weed killer, could make the leaves fall off
Go out in the middle of the night and strip the bark from the base of the tree. Be sure to go all the way around, and do it low enough so it won't be immediately noticable to passers-by.
Without the bark, the tree will not be able to carry water and nutrients up the trunk and within a few weeks you should find that the leaves wither and fall off, and the tree ultimately dies.
Then the landlord can spend a few hundred having it removed altogether.
Payback and a clear line of sight... just don't get caught. ;)

I finally got it to work, and I must say Canadian TV sucks. No Comedy Central or HBO. Does any channel play Southpark or Sopranos?

God damn landlord, is there anything better I can pick up than Canadian TV if i can't get Dish Network. My other thoughts were to get a wave Frontier T90. The company said it should help me with the weak signal through the tree. Has anyone checked out or used their dishes? They seem kinda neat. www.multilnbdish.com :repuke:

I don't have prob with the landlords im a 17 year old who has his dish rigged up lol, my family is the longest living in this building, but i know they don't like dishes around the building if it's on the balcony it's all cool, but anywhere else they will give you shit, i did how ever found myself in a predicament when i relized that there are trees in the way and couldn't pick up 119 dish bird from where my satellite is located, tree isn't fully done yet, but the signal is more where my bedroom window is, so i had to go to crappy canadian tv, yuck, the only thing good about canadian tv is the porn :p, but the rest makes me sick, can't wait to visit my house in the summer, i can get dish clear as a whistle there, just my 2 cents and blabbering on lol.
