I get in menu on a 2700 IRD # R00xxxxxxxxxx-xx ,but when shown again the -xx is not included in the #, which do I use to convert, the R00xxxxxxxx-xx , or the R00xxxxxxxx?

the latter. the -xx is not need if using nagraedit, windows caluclator only needs the numbers before the -xx
when typing in dec you cant enter a zero first take the first number I.E
ROO123456-78 or(123456) = 1e240 in hex pad out the begining in nagedit with zero so in this case the data editor tab under ird info would be ird # = 00 12 34 56

yep, Take the center 8 digits in windows acces calc set it on scientific mode. enter 8 digits in dec, click on hex. add a zero and the number you got. this is ird in hex, same for s00 smartcard cam number and also zipcode.
