mysterious 119

ok here's the problem...

1. Got my system setup and started aiming the satellite.
2. Got a 122 signal stregnth on sat 110
3. no matter what i do i cannot get 119 at all

now its a dish 500 system with a legacy twin LNB.

btw. when i look for sat 119 all i get is the "echostar 110 west, incorrect satellite" style message.

Any sugestions?

Bad Aiming? But when I try to reaim it i start loosing my 110 signal.

does it detect dish 500 under switch type.
if yes set it to 110 and find the signal , then tweak it to 119. 119 is easier to find so grab 110 first.
sounds like you have not installed multidish, what ird is it.
is it legacy dual or legacy twin lnb?

Think its aiming. Recheck the mast is level first, Then set it up for 119, Once 119 is locked 110 will be right there.

i know this may sound stupid but i have even forgot to check it once or twice, make sure everything is level first. Then check that your skew and elevation are properly set, after that it is just a matter of hittin the right birds, as long as you are not obstructed.
