I emailed Dave to ask some questions about what equipment I should get (since I'm told by the friend who gave me the equipment I have that I shouldn't sign up with that specific equipment) and which package to get (because of the local channels issue). And of course, all I got back was more propaganda that I've already read on their site and didn't get the answer I was looking for there.

I'm beginning to feel like I'm getting a censor letter from Prodigy again. Ugh.

Maybe you folks can answer some of my questions. Here is the request for info that I sent Dave:

I am currently in Wilmington, NC.
The local channel info indicats that we don't have local channels yet
but will in the near future. It also indicates that I will need a
Multi-Satellite system when they do come out.
As a new customer right now, which package of Total Choice Plus should I
get if I want the local channels when they are available?
I noticed of the 4 systems I can order, either I should get the Standard
or Multi-Satellite (as I will need that for local channels when they
come out.) Should I get Standard right now and upgrade when the local
channels come out? Which Total Choice Plus plan should I get also?
With local channels or Without (and upgrade when they come out)?
When do Wilmington, NC's local channels become available?
I've checked the Grade level for my address and my over-the-air channels
and I'm supposed to have Grade A&B channels. However, reception is
still horrible using a set-top antenna, especially when my computer is
on. And I don't see it being worthwhile to buy new outside equipment
for local channels if they are coming to satellite soon. I know because
of Grade A&B results, I can't get NY or LA based networks without a
waiver.
I just would like to get the right system and plan for the here and now
and prepare for whatever upgrade is necessary in the future. Thanks in
advance.
