Phone them and tell them you are getting ext 721 on a channel that you are paying for. Tell them you cant plug in because you are too far from a phone line and you dont want to buy a wireless jack. If they start asking too many questions, tell them you dont need all the hassles to watch tv you are paying for and you want to cancel.

Well I havent had my receiver plugged in for years and my original HU w/ sub hasn't been working for sometime. I received a new P4 card and can't get it to work and just get a 711 error message. I can't do the New Card in Menu bc the receiver doesn't recognize my original HU card. Should I call and cancel or try and sub a new package to reset my new P4 card. I am afraid of DTV asking me to plug in the receiver before cancelling. Does anyone know what the procedure for DTV when cancelling. I might call and tell them that I threw out my receiver and moved. HELP! What do I do? HAHA
I had the same situation just last week.
I told the gal that I had received my new P4 and need it started.
She asked wht the externsion was?
I replyed: 711
It took 5 seconds and my old receiver was running the P4 card I received a year ago.
And I have NEVER had my receiver connected to a phone line.

I was in the same boat, I kept putting off swapping out the cards. When I finally did the swap of course, the IRD kept saying the card was still valid. I called the number on the paper the cards were tacked to. I punched in the mail group number and within seconds I was back watching my subscription on shiny new D1 cards.
