everytime i goto erase ,in jkeys , i get this error " Flash operation unexpedly stopped ( DQ6 stopped toggling ) ," then i get " error dected erasing flash ".

i'm using a newer 3100 ( as in 4 months old ( no jtag cut out on the bottom ) ) under bev .
i was attemtping to reprogram it to dish net but thats as far as i got . ( i have in the past backed up my tsop , and even reprogramed it when the lock accidently got turned off , with no problems .)
until i get it figured out it's doa right now.

anyone got any ideas please .

i have even thought about getting a small bbq and offering up a sacrafice to the satalite gods.

( i should add i'm using an atmega 128 card and everything worked fine under bev , expect for the recent 104 error that lots of people seem to be getting .)

" Flash operation unexpedly stopped ( DQ6 stopped toggling ) ," then i get " error dected erasing flash ".

Every time I have ever got this error it has either
been a bad connection or wrong connection at
the receiver.

Most of the time it turned out to be the ground
for me.

NEVER put pin 1 to ground on a 3100 when flashing tsop only on a 2700 is this possible, will harm a 3100 if done this way,
Try your connections again and if you have to erase SA3 in your flash then put the ird back in the stream, let it recover and then backup again.......

what i did was , i soldered the jtag directly into the board the last ime i was playing with it , and it worked good then , so i left it soldered in place.
i even soldered the slides that the jtag pins slide inside of thinking there might be a bad conection there too .

any more ideas , or possibilites ?

You say that lock got accidentaly got turned off,it needs to be off when doing any writes or erasing tsop.Go to the soldering again, take it all off then start from scratch, making sure you don't get any cold solder joints, with you soldering to the pins of jtag,I think this is your problem,I would cut the wires being damn sure to have labelled each and then tin each one and solder to ejtag ports,in correct order. It's up to yopu what you want to try,but I don't think your'e getting the proper connection with the way you have gone about it.

you should be able to just "flip " the switch on the lock , ie turn it off . but i have thought about that , removing it that is but i doubt it will make a difference .

btw i double check all my solder joints with a ohm meter and even wiggle the joint a little bit just to see if the reading changes . they all tested good .

the new jkeys program looks promising .
funny , i seem to get a bit farther , then get a new error with it ( i 'll post it later when i get time ) .

BTW what jkeys are you using?Try all 1.3.1....2.1.0....2.9.9....see what happens...!

Just remove the wires (at the lock board) going to
the WE to TSOP and WE from TSOP and solder
them together. That will in essence remove the lock.

It only happened to me once but I did have a
lock interfere with flashing the TSOP.

Later I discovered the IC I was using for the
lock was the problem.
